Yoga on the beach
The amazing beaches of Lanzarote invite to practice yoga all year long. Specially early morning, right after the sun starts to rise over the horizon and the tourists are still sleeping or waking up, you can have an amazing yoga experience just by sitting there, moving, breathing, connecting with nature, with you, being present.
I just had the opportunity to teach these week a couple of sessions and it’s always a great way to enjoy even more my job. Private yoga or small group classes are the best. The best months for that are September, October and November, as there is less wind, but I also had a few classes on December and January that were great weather. It’s the luxury of the Canary Islands, the good temperatures all year long. My favorite beaches for that are some spots that I have already in Matagorda, Playa Honda area, or a small almost-private cove in Puerto del Carmen. Papagayo Beaches are also amazing, specially for sunset yoga.
Some people love it, some people find it a bit more challenging, specially in the standing balancing poses. From my point of view, a yoga class on the beach does not require a strong practice, just the perfect one to flow with the water, breath and move, calm your mind with the sea, and stretch and stregthen your body in a very present way, flowing.
Please note there may be a bit of sand everywhere at the end of your practice, check the forehead 😉 but if you are a sea lover, let me know and enjoy a yoga class on the beach in Lanzarote….The views, the sound of the waves, the birds, the breeze, the sun…All that together take you even closer to a total bliss experience or samadhi as we call it in yoga.
Here a few examples of the last classes in October and November.
